The QR code printed on your event badge points at a short link that’s yours: badge.hackclub.com/t/YOUR-SLACK-ID. Where it sends people is entirely up to you, and you can change it whenever you like — including halfway through an event. Point it at your portfolio, your GitHub, the project you’re demoing, your Linktree. Someone scans your badge, they land there.

Setting it up

  1. Click your name in the top-right and open your profile settings.
  2. Scroll to Badge link.
  3. Paste in where you want scans to go, and Save.
Your own link (the one on the badge) never changes, so a badge printed last year still works. Only the destination moves.

If the section asks you to connect Slack

Badge links are keyed to your Slack account, because that’s what’s encoded in the QR code. If Attend doesn’t have a Slack ID for you yet, connect Slack from the Account section of the same page and the badge section will fill in.

Turning it off

Clear the field and save. Scans then land on a short “this badge doesn’t point anywhere yet” page instead of going anywhere.
Badge links used to live on their own site, with a separate login. They don’t any more — badge.hackclub.com now only serves the redirects, and everything is managed here.
